The Science Behind the Seal
Super simple. Completely mechanical.
As the water level rises, the float inside SealStop rises with it. That triggers the mechanical valve, which uses the water pressure already in your hose to stop the flow.
That’s it. Simple physics doing a very useful job.

I have low or high water pressure. Will the device work?
SealStop is designed to work with mains water supplies between 0.5 and 5 bar.
If your water pressure is below 0.5 bar, the current SealStop may not operate correctly. If your pressure is
above 5 bar, it should be reduced before using SealStop.
Looking for something for a water butt or other low-pressure supply? A low-pressure SealStop is currently in development. Get in touch to register your interest and we'll let you know as soon as it's available.
Can SealStop be used indoors?
No. SealStop is designed for outdoor use only.
Can the device be left filling?
Yes, that's exactly what SealStop is designed for.
You can leave your container filling while you're nearby getting on with other jobs, without the mad dash
back to the tap before it overflows.
SealStop will automatically stop the water when your container is full. However, it is a portable filling
device and isn't designed to be left permanently connected as a 24/7 shut-off valve. Do not leave unattended with livestock.
Once you've finished filling, simply turn off your tap and move SealStop onto the next job.
What size and type of container will SealStop fit?
SealStop fits most buckets and containers, from thin flexible trugs with rims around 3mm thick, right up to galvanised troughs with rims around 70mm wide.
For standard buckets and thinner containers, the rim sits within the groove of the SealStop holder. For wider rims, such as troughs, the rim sits between the valve and the hose instead.
Always remember to clip your hose into the holder. This helps support SealStop and keeps it correctly
positioned while filling.
SealStop also works with many watering cans, although those with very low handles can be a bit of a
squeeze.

Which taps and hoses does it fit?
SealStop connects to a standard ½" garden hose using a standard hose-end quick connector, such as a Hozelock-style fitting. We recommend using a good-quality Water Stop hose-end connector for the best performance.
Your tap itself doesn't need any special fitting beyond whatever you normally use to connect your garden
hose.
Is SealStop approved for use on a mains water supply?
Yes. SealStop holds UK Water Regulations certification under Regulation 4, Fluid Category 3, certificate number 2603716(1).
This means SealStop has been independently tested and approved for connection to a mains water supply.
